With eight hydroelectric power plants along the Drava River and two small power plants, Dravske elektrarne Maribor generates 80 % of Slovenia’s electric power in compliance with the criteria of renewable energy resources and the standards of the internationally adopted RECS (Renewable Energy Certificates System) certificate. Quality hydroelectric power is generated in an environmentally friendly manner while respecting the principles of sustainable development.
The company, which is owned by HSE and the Republic of Slovenia, is within the scope of its development plans also among the most important investors in the construction of power plants on the Lower Sava River – the largest development project in the Slovenian electric industry.
